    yeah me too, there are only few people which actually listen to what you have to say about the whole thing without getting scared or anything, that's why i like this board, and i also think it's all because the manga we read, that's the thing we all have in common here, thank god for the yaoi and shonen ai mangas (and also yuki kaori's) that is helping to make more people open minded

    It's not the sharing the toilet part that bothers me, it's the "anyone can walk into the work bathroom at any time" part that bothers me. (House bathrooms have locks so your dad or brother doesn't walk in on you!) I just feel weird being caught with my hose tangled up in my skirt trying to straighten out all the layers in front of someone who's genetically male... ^^;;;

    A good friend of mine just told me about a year ago she used to be a man - I tend to be quite honest so I just dropped my jaw and said "you are joking right? 'cos like you look stunning" so she sowed me the before pictures - i was stunned and I asked all the possible direct questions , technical and otherwise . and then realised I may be rude - it turned out that she was happy I was not shying away from the subject. she actually wanted to talk about this for ages - openly. The only thing that annoyed me is that she thought I would run away - even though she knows very well I treat people as who they are NOW not who they used to be.

    Everyone changes all of the time - even without having any sex change treatment and operation. Goddess knows I am a totaly different person to the one I was three years ago - let alone ten.

    We both know another guy who is now being hormonally treated towards a sex change. When he came out with this I wasn't really that shocked, he looked every bit a man but it is true to say that some people are born with the wrong sex - I realised he always FELT like a woman. so we all refer to him in a girls name now and when I remember I refer to him as a girl. It takes time to get used to it but when I told him that he smiled and understood.

    Just treat a person as who they are now, who they were in the past is just something that builds up to their identity at the present but the present is all that really matter in issues like that.

    Its not that I don't care about the gender of my friends - I care because I want to know as much as possible about them but it doesn't really matter. and I suck at telling if someone had a sex change - maybe its just that my friend makes such a hot long legged girl with the most amazing soft skin and lush hair ^_^

    at the end of the day it all about sitting around talking about anime/manga and sci fi that counts. and you know - sometimes I wish I could change my Gender at will... I know a lot of people would. It helps me feel close to this whole subject.
